THORENS Single Claw Series Oil Lighter

This Torrens single-hook model is quite unique. Initially, I thought it was the first-generation version of the Torrens single hook, but further research revealed that early models were also produced without a safety screw. After extensive searching, I found no record of another lighter with this same bottom engraving. However, through continued investigation, I finally located the patent application for this lighter in the UK Patent Office. This suggests that data on various websites stating production began in 1926 may be inaccurate, as those sources likely refer only to versions equipped with a safety screw.
